Terms & Conditions of Employment
- This is a rolling advert; successful candidates will be placed
on a reserve list depending on the preferences they have
selected on the PREFERENCE FORM (Weblink) and the
outcome of the interviews. The recruitment process is fair
and open competition and people will be judged on their
own merit. As this is a rolling advert, the selection
interviews will take place every few weeks, when a vacancy
arises, priority will be given to those who were interviewed
first.
- Contract Type: Permanent, Fixed Term Appointment, Zero Hours
- Grade: New Recruits: LSA Level 1 Unqualified or LSA Level 2 Qualified The level depends
on the qualifications; current staff will retain their terms and conditions.
- Salary: The salary depends on the contract, the hours to be worked and on the qualifications.
Level 1 Unqualified: minimum €12.22 per hour, plus Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)
Level 2 Qualified: minimum €12.72 per hour, plus Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)
- Hours per week: 30 hours per week or less than 30 or Zero Hours. Depending on business
needs.

Essential & Desirable Criteria for the Role

Essential 1. For UKFMs that will be found successful on this advert and who have lived
on island for longer than 18 months, will be requested to provide a Clean
Criminal Record and a Sex Offenders Certificate issued by the Republic of
Cyprus.
- All candidates who have lived in the UK, must undergo and pass an
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
- As part of the Safer Recruitment process, successful candidates must
provide, upon employment, clean criminal records from all countries they
have lived in the last 5 years.

- GCSE or Equivalent Maths & English Grade C or above.
- Observation Assessment at Interview Stage.
- Hold a full driving licence and be prepared to self-drive an MT vehicle
(prepared to maintain or obtain FMT600 or MyDrive) across WSBA and
ESBA or occasionally in the Republic of Cyprus
Desirable 1. NVQ Level 2 or 3 Qualified in Education or Childcare
- Paediatric First Aid Trained
- Experience working as LSA within UK School is desirable

- MANDATORY DUTIES Responsible for (Tasks/Duties) Percentage (%) of time spent during the working week on each task
SUPPORT FOR PUPILS Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
- Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils. Please note that we are unable to determine, it various from day to day

SUPPORT FOR TEACHERS
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work.
- Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals.
- Assist with the planning of learning activities.
- Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed.
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupil’s achievement, progress, problems etc.
- Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour
- Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers.
- Undertake routine marking of pupils’ work.
- Provide clerical/admin. support e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, money, administer coursework etc.
SUPPORT FOR THE CURRICULUM
- Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses.
- Undertake programmes linked to local and national learning strategies e.g. literacy, numeracy, KS3, early years recording achievement and progress and feeding back to the teacher
- Support the use of IT in learning activities and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use. Prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use. SUPPORT FOR THE SCHOOL
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
- Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
- Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
- Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtime. Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required and take responsibility for a group under the supervision of the teacher. MANDATORY DUTIES
