Sovereign Base Areas

The Sovereign Base Areas Administration (SBAA) is the civil government of the British Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia in Cyprus, established under the 1960 Treaty of Establishment. It exercises executive, legislative, and judicial authority in the SBAs, overseeing law enforcement, customs and immigration, environmental policy, and local civil administration. Headquartered at Episkopi, the SBAA is led by the Administrator who also serves as Commander British Forces Cyprus.
