POSITION SUMMARY:
The Commis is an entry-level position that provides essential support to chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring that kitchen operations run efficiently and smoothly.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with food preparation: Help with washing, peeling, cutting, and prepping ingredients for cooking.
- Maintain cleanliness: Clean kitchen utensils, equipment, and work surfaces. Ensure the kitchen remains organized and hygienic.
- Assist with stocking and inventory: Help stock ingredients and kitchen supplies. Check expiration dates and rotate stock when necessary.
- Waste disposal: Properly dispose of waste and recycling according to health and safety standards.
- Assist chefs and cooks: Support kitchen staff by delivering supplies or helping with simple tasks during meal prep.
- Food storage: Store food and ingredients according to food safety guidelines to maintain freshness and avoid contamination.
- Assist with kitchen setup: Help set up cooking stations, prep areas, and kitchen tools at the beginning of the shift.
- Section Responsibility: Work within a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed promptly and to the highest standard.
- Professional Presentation: Maintain high standards of personal appearance, grooming, and hygiene to ensure you meet company expectations.
- Policy Adherence: Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and food handling standards.
- Safety and Reporting: Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Additional Duties: Perform other reasonable tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors or management as the needs of the kitchen evolve.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
- No previous experience required

- High school diploma
- Culinary diploma is an advantage
Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Good communication in English; Greek or any other language will be considered as a strong advantage
- Ability to perform repetitious tasks
