Job Summary:

The Head Waiter ensures efficient and courteous service in the restaurant, supervises service staff, assists with daily operations, and promotes sales of food and beverages while maintaining the hotel’s quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high levels of personal hygiene, appearance, and adherence to Health & Safety rules.

  • Ensure all working areas, utensils, and service stations are clean and organized before, during, and after service.

  • Welcome guests, escort them to their tables, and provide attentive service, paying special attention to guests with disabilities.

  • Present menus and beverage lists, explaining food and drink options professionally.

  • Take guest orders, serve food and beverages, and supervise the proper execution of service by subordinates.

  • Prepare buffet areas and monitor presentation, cleanliness, and replenishment throughout service hours.

  • Coach and guide junior staff on restaurant service standards and hotel procedures.

  • Monitor guest satisfaction during meals, proactively responding to requests or concerns.

  • Handle billing procedures, collect payments, and ensure accuracy in transactions.

  • Address minor complaints courteously and escalate serious incidents to the Restaurants Manager.

  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth order execution and timely service.

  • Implement GDPR requirements to protect personal data of guests and staff.

  • Follow all hotel Health & Safety rules, including proper reporting of accidents or incidents.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by management related to restaurant operations.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good command of Greek and English; additional languages are an advantage.

  • Previous experience as a Head Waiter or similar role in a hotel or restaurant environment.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent guest service abilities.

  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, menu items, and wine service.

  • Ability to supervise, train, and motivate a team effectively.

  • Calm and professional under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills.
