Job description
Join our dynamic team, responsible for providing technical services, monitoring and support of existing installed systems and infrastructure, both for internal needs and customers such as large size organizations in various sectors (including law enforcement & justice, asylum & migration, social security, lands and town planning, financial services, insurance, etc) in Cyprus and abroad.
You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge in systems engineering by participating in large scale and mission critical projects with your assigned team and through the guidance and coaching of your Team Leader and other Senior Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, system software, and M365 products.
- Administration of accounts, groups, and workstations for internal users.
- Provide technical support to users, addressing their inquiries and issues promptly.
- Offer training and guidance to users, as needed to enhance their technical proficiency.
- Monitor system performance and proactively maintain systems to meet operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues and outages swiftly to minimize disruptions.
- Manage network components to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and smooth operation of systems.
- Monitor network performance and address issues promptly.
- Implement and enforce access controls and firewall policies to enhance system security.
- Deploy and maintain backup and replication technologies to ensure system security and data integrity.
- Plan and execute system upgrades with new releases and models to keep the infrastructure up-to-date and efficient.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies to ensure clear guidelines for system usage and management.
Qualifications
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience as a System Administrator or similar role will be considered an advantage.
- Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows environments.
- Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments.
- Experience with data backup & recovery technologies.
- Good foundation/understanding of Networking concepts.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, Oracle KVM, ESXi, oVirt).
