VACANCY

The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) accepts applications for the employment of one (1) employee with a fixed – term contract for the duration of twelve (12) months. CBC has the right to renew the contract for a further period of up to twelve months.

MICAR IT SPECIALIST (Position Code: MICAR2)

Duties & Responsibilities

 Participate in on-site inspections visits, investigations and off-site supervisory reviews of regulated entities and applicants for licensing in line with prevailing legislation.  Assist in the assessment of the applications for licensing under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR).  Follow up with ICT Risk and supervisory related developments in MiCAR, Digital Assets and blockchain and submit recommendations for enhancing the relevant departments’ supervisory procedures ensuring created risks are addressed.  Organization and delivery of training and presentations to staff.  Coach members of the allocated department in matters related to MiCAR, Digital Assets and blockchain.  Prepare or participate in the preparation of regulatory or informative material to the supervised entities and other stakeholders industries regulated.  Participate, as a member and advisor in working groups and be involved in the execution of relevant projects.  Assess available relevant Suptech solutions and submit recommendations suggestions for further needs or upgrades.

Required Qualifications and Experience

 Bachelor or masters degree in Computer Science, Information technology, Cybersecurity, or Blockchain/Digital Assets  Prior experience of at least 8 years in a regulatory body, financial institution, a tech company, advisory firm, or combination of these with at least of 4 years of those being in scope of work related to regulatory compliance on virtual assets and/or blockchain and/or technical implementation of applications related to blockchain and/or cryptocurrency in any of the aforementioned organizations.

Additional/Desired Qualifications

 Additional qualifications in finance  Additional certifications as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Blockchain Expert (CBE), Certified Cryptocurrency Auditor (CCA), Certified Blockchain Security Professional (CBCP) or other relevant and equivalent professional certifications.
