Job description
Job Summary:
The Head Barman is responsible for the efficient and courteous operation of the bar department, promoting sales, supervising bar staff, and maintaining high standards of service and quality across all bar operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and train bar staff, ensuring compliance with company procedures, policies, and service standards.
Develop and update alcoholic beverage recipes, including cocktails, based on guest preferences and seasonal trends.
Manage all bar operations, including staff scheduling, inventory control, ordering, and stock management.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area and equipment to meet Health & Safety standards.
Prepare and serve drinks promptly, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to recipes.
Demonstrate expert knowledge of both traditional and contemporary beverages, guiding staff and assisting guests.
Promote sales of drinks and beverages, upselling specials and events when appropriate.
Monitor bar performance, quality of service, and customer satisfaction.
Implement GDPR requirements to protect personal information of guests and staff.
Follow hotel Health & Safety rules and procedures, including reporting accidents or incidents.
Perform any other duties assigned by management that are related to the bar operations.
Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Hospitality, or vocational training in Food & Beverage.
Minimum 1 year of experience in bar operations or management.
Excellent command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
Strong leadership, guest service, and communication skills.
Knowledge of beverage preparation, bar equipment, and inventory management.
Ability to train, motivate, and lead a team effectively.
Creativity in developing new drinks and improving guest experiences.
