Compliance Officer (senior / Supervising Senior)

Position: Compliance Officer (Senior/Supervising Senior) | Tax & Legal Business – Nicosia, Cyprus

Our Tax & Legal services is seeking to recruit a dynamic and high calibre professional to join its internal QRM Team as a Compliance Officer, at the levels of Senior / Supervising Senior, in our Nicosia Office.

The Role

The successful candidate will be dealing with risk and quality matters, as well as Deloitte policies and procedures for the provision of tax services. Key responsibilities of the position include, among others:

• Assisting with the on-boarding processes for clients and engagements:

  • Collection and review of necessary documentation for client and engagement acceptance, including AML  documentation, liaising directly with clients as well as with other Deloitte professionals, as required

  • Acting as the direct point of contact with clients to ensure the smooth collection of all required AML documentation, in accordance with Deloitte policies and Cyprus AML legislation requirements

  • Arranging for the carrying out of all necessary conflicts checks, independence and confidentiality procedures, using Deloitte internal systems

  • Documenting the client and engagement acceptance process using Deloitte internal systems and arranging for the necessary approvals

• Handling all other compliance matters in relation to client and engagement acceptance

• Dealing with contractual arrangements with clients and other Deloitte offices including preparation of engagement letters and other agreements with clients 

In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to act as an individual contributor, delivering high quality work with guidance from senior team members.

Requirements

• College degree or Undergraduate degree from a reputable University

• Minimum 3 years of experience in AML compliance, client onboarding, client due diligence and other compliance-related processes, preferably in a professional services organisation

• AML certification(s) and/or relevant AML compliance qualifications will be considered a strong advantage

• Excellent organisational skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Detail oriented and conscientious approach

• Excellent computer literacy

• Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written
