Job description
Our client is a growing IT company seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Bookkeeper to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who is passionate about accuracy, organization, and delivering high-quality financial support in a dynamic technology environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company's financial records, supporting payroll and statutory compliance, and contributing to the smooth operation of the finance function while working alongside a friendly and collaborative team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recording accounting transactions accurately and on a timely basis.
- Maintaining the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
- Processing supplier invoices and preparing supplier payments.
- Issuing customer invoices where required.
- Performing bank reconciliations.
- Reconciling customer, supplier and general ledger accounts.
- Processing and reconciling employee expense claims.
- Assisting with VAT preparation and supporting VAT submissions.
- Preparing payroll information and coordinating monthly payroll processing.
- Assisting with Social Insurance, PAYE and other statutory submissions.
- Monitoring director's current account and related transactions.
- Preparing monthly accounting reports and schedules.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Liaising with external auditors, accountants and government authorities when required.
- Maintaining proper accounting records and electronic filing systems.
- Supporting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties.
- Supporting the group with financial reporting on a frequent basis
- LCCI Higher or Diploma in Accounting, AAT, CAT or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Good understanding of Cyprus VAT and payroll procedures.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills in Greek and English (written and spoken).
- Professional integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of Aphrodite Accounting, Payroll software and experience within bookkeeping software will be considered an advantage
- Salary range: €13,000 - €23,4000 Gross Per Annum
- Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability
- 13th salary
- Working hours are Monday-Friday 08:00-13:00 and 14:30-17:30.
