Job description
Our client is a specialist insurance organisation operating within the European Yacht and Marine Trades sector, with an expanding international portfolio across Greece, Ireland, and wider Europe. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Account Handler with a strong background in commercial insurance, liability lines, and client servicing to join their team.
This role will suit an insurance professional who enjoys managing relationships, handling complex risks, and providing high-quality technical support across an international portfolio. While experience within yacht or marine insurance would be highly advantageous, candidates with strong general insurance backgrounds and exposure to liability products will also be considered.
The successful candidate will work closely with direct clients, broker partners, underwriting teams, and international insurance markets, supporting the placement and servicing of specialist commercial risks. The role will initially be fully remote based in Cyprus, with potential future hybrid or office-based arrangements as the business continues to expand locally.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and service a portfolio of commercial insurance clients across Europe, including direct clients and broker-led business
- Handle day-to-day account management activities including renewals, policy amendments, endorsements, and client enquiries
- Support the placement and servicing of commercial risks, including liability and specialist insurance products
- Liaise with insurers, underwriting partners, and international markets to negotiate terms and secure appropriate coverage solutions
- Prepare, review, and issue insurance documentation including quotations, policies, endorsements, and supporting documentation
- Provide technical guidance to clients and brokers regarding coverage, policy structures, and risk exposures
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and insurance partners across multiple European markets
- Ensure all activities are completed in line with regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and internal procedures
- Maintain accurate records across internal systems and CRM platforms
- Support client retention and identify opportunities for account development and cross-selling
- Contribute to the continued growth of the business within the European marine and commercial insurance markets
- Proven experience within commercial insurance, account handling, broking, underwriting support, or insurance servicing roles
- Strong understanding of liability insurance products including Public Liability, Employers’ Liability, and Professional Indemnity
- Experience managing renewals, mid-term adjustments, and new business placements
- Previous experience working with both direct clients and broker networks
- Experience within yacht, marine, or specialist insurance markets would be highly advantageous
- Understanding of European and/or London insurance markets preferred
- Fluent in Greek and English (written and spoken) is essential
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to work with international stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a remote working environment
- Commercial mindset with a genuine interest in developing within a specialist insurance sector
