Job Description
We are looking for a Sales Director for the Events Division to lead and drive the commercial growth of Ultimate Group’s events portfolio.The ideal candidate will bring extensive commercial experience within the online trading, fintech, financial services, or adjacent B2B event industries, with a strong understanding of the ecosystem and key market participants.
This role reports directly to the CEO and will be responsible for sales strategy, revenue generation, team leadership, client relationships, and commercial performance management.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
• Lead and execute the overall sales strategy across the event portfolio to achieve revenue growth, commercial targets, and client retention.
• Own and deliver annual and quarterly revenue targets across all events.
• Establish and monitor clear sales activity and commercial KPIs to ensure consistent pipeline growth and sales execution.
• Develop accurate sales forecasts and provide regular commercial performance reports to the CEO.
• Conduct post-event commercial reviews to identify opportunities, improve performance, and support strategic decision-making.
• Drive sponsorship, exhibition, partnership, and upselling opportunities across the portfolio.
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing sales team through coaching, accountability, and performance management.
• Foster a proactive, consultative, and results-driven sales culture.
• Recruit, onboard and develop sales talent to support business growth.
• Implement structured onboarding, training, and coaching programmes to improve team capability and consistency.
• Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the sales team and conduct regular performance reviews.
Client & Industry Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, sponsors, partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities through strategic networking and relationship management.
• Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
• Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, finance, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and successful event delivery.
• Provide commercial insights and recommendations during senior leadership and project meetings.
• Support the continuous improvement of sales processes, CRM usage, reporting standards, and commercial operations.
Requirements
Education & Professional Background• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) is considered an advantage.
• Relevant certifications in sales, leadership, or financial markets are a plus.
Experience
• 7–10 years of sales experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and leading high-performing sales teams.
• Strong experience applying consultative sales methodologies and structured sales processes.
• Experience within the online trading, fintech, financial services, or B2B events industry.
• Experience working across international markets.
