The main responsibilities of the position include:
Develop and execute action plans to achieve agreed goals and performance indicatorsRecommend and actively promote improvements to DevOps practices, automation patterns, and toolingIdentify automation opportunities and drive implementation initiatives within the Platform Engineering teamMonitor and suggest improvements to the existing CI/CD process to increase speed, safety, and reliabilityCoordinate implementation activities within the team and assist in cross-team collaboration when requiredDevelop, maintain, and enhance existing GitLab CI pipeline librariesAssist developers with setting up CI/CD for their projects and provide support for any issues that may ariseStay up to date with the latest tools and trends in the industry and share relevant insights with the wider teamEnsure adherence to best practices across Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes environments and support continuous improvement initiativesSupport knowledge-sharing sessions and educate Application Development Teams on platform standards, tools, and best practicesWork closely with the Security team to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure platform compliance with security standardsSet personal targets for team members and monitor performanceProvide regular feedback, coaching, mentoring, and development support to team membersEncourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the teamHelp maintain a motivated, engaged, and high-performing team environmentMain requirements:
BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline7+ years’ experience within the following areas: Cloud (AWS), Release Pipeline Management, Windows Server Administration, Linux Administration, Certificate Management, PowerShell scripting, Bash/python scripting, Configuration Management and IAC (Ansible/Terraform), DNS, NetworkingEnterprise-level Kubernetes experienceSolid Linux administration skillsStrong leadership, mentoring, and people management skillsCommitment to continuous improvement, with a focus on observability, modern application architecture styles, blue-green/canary deployments, and CI/CD pipeline managementAbility to self-motivate, study, and stay on top of emerging technologies and trends while meeting business deadlinesExcellent communication, organizational, and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and cost awarenessAbility to work effectively in fast-paced environments and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlinesExperience with tools including: Istio, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, MSK, New Relic The following will be considered an advantage:
Familiarity with database conceptsWorking experience with at least one cloud provider (preferably AWS)Experience with Apache Kafka configuration and troubleshootingExperience with ELK configuration and troubleshootingExperience mentoring or coaching technical teamsScripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Go, etc.) Benefit from:
