Job Description

Columbia Group is looking for a Junior AI Developer in Limassol Cyprus.

We are looking for a motivated Junior AI Developer to join our team and help build practical AI solutions that improve products, processes, and user experience. This is an early-career role suited to someone with strong technical foundations, curiosity, and a desire to learn by working on real-world AI use cases with guidance from experienced colleagues.

About the Role:

• Assist in designing, building, testing, and improving AI-driven features, tools, and prototypes.
• Work with datasets to clean, prepare, and validate data for machine learning and AI applications.
• Support model experimentation, prompt development, evaluation, testing, and deployment activities under the guidance of senior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code, and contribute to debugging, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of AI systems.
• Help document experiments, technical approaches, model outputs, and implementation decisions clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience involving AI, machine learning, automation, data applications, or LLM-based solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Foundation in Python and familiarity with common AI, machine learning, or data libraries, including the Microsoft AI stack such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Search, Azure AI Services, Microsoft Fabric, GitHub Copilot, and Azure DevOps.
• Good understanding of machine learning concepts, data structures, APIs, and software development principles.
• Practical exposure to modern AI development tools, including notebooks, code repositories, APIs, prompt testing environments, and cloud-based AI services.
• Familiarity with testing prompts, evaluating model outputs, and improving results through structured iteration and feedback.
• Interest in generative AI, large language models, automation, or applied machine learning use cases.
• Basic understanding of responsible AI, AI governance, data privacy, and security considerations when developing AI solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
