NALU Hotel in Latsi is seeking an experienced Barman to maintain excellence in bar operations and elevate the guest experience.
Job Summary:
The Barman / Head Barman ensures efficient and courteous service in the bar department, promotes beverage and food sales, and assists the Department Head in maintaining smooth bar operations while upholding the hotel’s quality and service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the highest levels of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and professional appearance; comply with all Health & Safety rules.
Ensure the bar is never left unattended and is kept clean and organized throughout service.
Complete all “mise-en-place” tasks prior to service.
Demonstrate expert knowledge of bar menus, beverages, and cocktail preparation; advise and assist guests courteously.
Take orders and serve drinks to guests promptly and professionally.
Prepare specialty cocktails in addition to the standard bar list, following pricing policies.
Coordinate bar staff and oversee service outside the bar when needed.
Promote sales of beverages, food, and special events organized by the hotel.
Check stock issued from stores and maintain inventory at the bar; prepare requisitions for the following day.
Train subordinates in beverage knowledge, guest service, and teamwork.
Handle billing, payments, and cash transactions accurately.
Address customer complaints or escalate to superiors when necessary.
Be knowledgeable about the local area, attractions, and points of interest to assist guests.
Implement GDPR requirements to protect personal data.
Follow procedures for reporting accidents involving guests or staff.
Perform any other tasks assigned by management related to the department.
Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Hospitality, or vocational training in Food & Beverage.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in bar operations.
Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.
Strong guest service skills and a professional, approachable demeanor.
Knowledge of cocktail preparation, beverages, and bar equipment.
Ability to train, lead, and motivate bar staff.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
