David Kennedy Recruitment is working with an innovative global Customer Experience company currently looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer (Architecture) to join their growing international team.

Position: Senior Software Engineer (Architecture)

Location: Limassol, Cyprus 

Employment type: Full-time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and systems using Laravel (PHP) and Vue.js

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and help drive scalable, maintainable, and high-performance technical solutions

  • Work with distributed systems, queue-based architectures, Kafka, and event-driven patterns

  • Optimise platform performance, reliability, scalability, and overall system stability

  • Collaborate closely with Head of Development, DevOps Engineers, and Senior Developers on technical initiatives and infrastructure improvements

  • Support engineering best practices, clean code principles, and continuous technical improvement

  • Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and provide technical mentorship to developers

  • Work with containerised and cloud-native environments using Docker and Kubernetes

  • Participate actively in day-to-day hands-on development while supporting long-term technical direction

  • Contribute to improving development processes, scalability, and engineering standards across the platform.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills

  • 5–8+ years of software engineering experience

  • Strong system design and software architecture experience

  • Solid backend development experience with PHP/Laravel or similar frameworks

  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, ideally Vue.js

  • Experience working with distributed systems and queue/event-driven architectures

  • Hands-on experience with Kafka and queue systems

  • Strong knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL databases

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly preferred

  • Strong ownership mindset and problem-solving abilities

  • Passion for technology with proactive self-learning mentality

  • Ability to work collaboratively within fast-paced technical environments.
