Senior Associate Accountant / Assistant Manager | International Clients

SCORDIS, PAPAPETROU & Co (Corporate Services) Ltd is an independent Cyprus-based professional services firm providing corporate, accounting, tax and advisory services to international clients.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Associate Accountant / Assistant Manager to join our Accounting Department in Nicosia.  The successful candidate will play an active role in delivering accounting and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of international clients.

The Role

As part of the Accounting and VAT Department, you will be involved in both accounting and advisory work, including:

  • Managing a portfolio of mainly international clients
  • Responding to client requests in a timely and effective manner
  • Reviewing and processing accounting ledger transactions
  • Performing and reviewing reconciliations of control accounts, including bank, debtor and creditor accounts
  • Preparing and reviewing working papers and supporting calculations
  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Preparing financial statements
  • Liaising with external auditors and supporting audit processes
  • Preparing reports and analysis within agreed deadlines
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT and VIES returns
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members and contributing to team development

What We Are Looking For

  • University graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
  • ACCA or ACA qualified (or in the final stages)
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of E-Soft Accounting will be considered an advantage
  • Good understanding of VAT and tax
  • Excellent communication skills in Greek and English
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Excellent team player
  • Professional, reliable and detail-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
