MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
• Ensure maintenance of proper books of accounts in accordance with legislation of Cyprus and IFRS
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers’ ledger, customers’ ledger, and general ledger, complete bank reconciliations.
• Reconciliation of entries into the accounting system and perform partial checks of the posting process
• Preparing supplier, bank and other reconciliations
• Assist the Controller with
  • The financial reporting for allocated companies
  • The smooth running of the accounts and the financial reporting function 
  • The preparation of all financial accounting responsibilities and deliverables
  • The preparation of periodic management accounts and reports
  • Liaising with the auditors for the preparation of the annual audited Financial Statements
• Preparation of reports as requested by Controller
• Undertake tasks upon requested by the Controller to assist him in the smooth operation of the finance department

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• 3+ years’ experience as a Bookkeeper/Accountant for a portfolio of clients
• Degree in Accounting and Finance or any other relevant field
• Knowledge of Cyprus tax/VAT regulations will be considered an advantage
• Previous experience with accounting for companies which are involved in investments and trading in securities (i.e investments in Funds, private equity, listed stocks/bonds, convertible loans)
• Time management and ability to work under pressure and within deadliness
• Keen attention to detail and produce work with a high level of accuracy
• Fluency in English and Greek languages
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of accounting software Cycom – Sofia will be considered an advantage
